How to use it

Use it as a random team generator
For games, debates or PE, choose 2 groups for two teams, or set Students per group to the team size you need. Teams stay balanced to within one player, and Shuffle again gives a fresh draw in one click.
Tips for random groups that work
- Groups of 3 or 4 give everyone a role; above 5, someone usually drifts.
- Show the groups full screen and leave them up while students move.
- Make new groups each week so students work with more classmates.
- Need just one student? Use the random name picker with the same list.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I split a class into random groups?
- Paste the names, choose Number of groups or Students per group, and press Make groups. Press Shuffle again until you like the mix.
- What happens if the class doesn't divide evenly?
- Groups never differ by more than one student. With 25 students in groups of 4, you get five groups of 4 and one of 5 rather than a lonely group of 1.
- Can I use it as a random team generator?
- Yes. Teams are just groups: choose 2 groups for a two-team game, or set Students per group to the team size you need.
- Can I save or copy the groups?
- Press Copy groups to paste them into a document, a slide or your LMS. The last groups are also remembered in this browser.
- Do I have to type my class list again?
- No. Class lists are shared with the random name picker and saved in this browser, so you paste each class once.
